54 Roslyn Street Potts Point is a mixture of buildings
It was an original 19th century cottage added to in increments. Its 1932 additions contained the famous Baron’s Bar with its Chesterfield leather couch ambience on level one from 1977. Downstairs the authentic Czech Cafe Pralinka served dinner until late.
Today’s modern vase shaped building by Durboch and Bloch uses Trencardis mosaic tiles, a Spanish technique which adds to the interest of the streetscape. The firm occupies the top floor and rooftop garden.
Matisse French restaurant utilises the ground floor.
The new construction adds to the area’s streetscape.
