Spicers Hotel at 122 Victoria Street, Potts Point, has a goodly heritage.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           It is one on a group of hotels offering five-star customer service and refined comfort.

Spicers, Potts Point, is an adaptively re-used triptych of late nineteenth century grand terraces looking to the city skyline. It lies in one of Sydney’s most beautiful tree-lined streets in Australia’s first suburb, Potts Point. Its London Plane trees arch to meet in the middle of the street providing dappled light and shade to passers-by and residents.

The terraces have been heritage-listed by Sydney Council since 2012.

The heritage exterior is retained with its lace verandah iron work. Inside, sandstone lintels, Carrera marble fireplaces, French doors and polished floor boards all exude a homely warmth, charm and character. Modern rain showers, Bose sound systems and a water-themed colour scheme of turquoise and blue create a nexus between the 20 luxury rooms, conference facilities and suites with the world famous Sydney Harbour nearby.

Original art embraces rooms and spaces, curated from the owners’ personal collection, and is also water-themed. Keith Burt, a distinguished Australian artist and recent 2017 Archibald portrait prize finalist, features in the collection.

Spicers in Potts Point is distinguished from other sites in the Spicers group: there is no dining room. Guests enjoy complimentary breakfast in the Garden room under a glass roof and room service from an eclectic choice of the best nearby cafes and restaurants such as Monopole, Jangling Jacks, Butlers and Apollo.

Potts Point is famous for its cafes and restaurants.

And Spicer’s Manager, Sam Giles, a chef who knows his food, has been in hospitality since he was 14 years old.

65% of guests are return customers with guests mainly domestic corporate regulars.

“Being a boutique hotel there is nothing we can’t do for our guests,” Sam says; “It’s their home-away-from-home”.

Guests agree saying:” Three terrace houses … create a lovely small hotel made even better by a superb staff who provide service at the highest level. The rooms are large and comfortable with seating areas and enormous dressing rooms and bathrooms. An excellent breakfast. This hotel is pretty close to flawless … We much prefer boutique properties with personalised service and loved the property … in beautifully-restored terraces …  filled with beautiful art … the location is the best in Sydney,”
