A new smoothie outlet called The Smoothie Co. has opened three weeks ago at shop 4/b 50 Macleay Street opposite the Orwell Street intersection.

It’s a daily dose of wellness with 20 smoothies,12 juices, a range of 10 organic speciality coffees and caffeinated beverages and 6 smoothie bowls (including two acai bowls).

The result is instant success and a refreshing health kick during the summer months. It’s the brain child of Anthony Lorch, a former commercial real estate agent. He founded the concept in 2014 at the famous Surry Hills Festival.

Customers flock to this boutique like bees to a hive describing its stylish decor and design as “super cute”. A clean, chic Elba marble waterfall counter top, polished concrete floor, pink terrazzo entrance threshold and doggie bowl are very Potts Point.

He loves the locals and locals love him.

He describes locals as curious, articulate, intellectual, open minded and eclectic (thank you, Anthony). He’s not surprised to learn the area has the highest proportion of Ph.Ds in the country according to ABS census data.

Their impression is reciprocated with customers saying the service and quality of items are very impressive.

The most popular items are from the “Functional Smoothies” range which includes the “Holy Hazel” with banana, organic protein, hazelnut, organic cacao and organic almond milk, and the “Strawberry Serenity” whose recipe is bananas, strawberries, organic protein and organic coconut milk.

It all bounces along with Anthony’s effusive personality and hard work, love and enthusiasm for what he does best; serving customers.
